We source exceptional single-origin green coffee, then roast it in small batches on our 1950s cast-iron drum roaster — the same way it's always been done. No shortcuts. No filler. Just honest, remarkable coffee.
Oak Barrel Coffee started with a simple conviction: great coffee deserves great care. We scour growing regions — Ethiopia, Colombia, Indonesia, and beyond — to find green coffees with something to say, then bring them home to Turlock.
Our roasting heart is a 1950s cast-iron drum roaster, restored to its original glory. Unlike modern high-throughput machines, our drum roaster moves slowly and deliberately, allowing heat to develop the bean evenly from the inside out. The result? A cup with clarity, sweetness, and complexity that mass-roasted coffee simply can't match.
Each batch is just big enough to stay consistent, and small enough to stay intentional. We cup every roast before it ships. If it doesn't pass, it doesn't leave the roastery.
Explore Our CoffeesThree exceptional single-origins, available as whole bean or ground. Each bag is 12 oz, roasted to order and shipped within days of the roast date.
Tasting notes:
Blueberry jam · Jasmine · Dark chocolate · Meyer lemon finish
Grown in the elevated highlands of the Guji Zone, this natural-processed coffee is vibrant and fruit-forward. The jasmine florals open up as the cup cools — drink it slow.
Tasting notes:
Brown sugar · Red apple · Caramel · Smooth cocoa finish
From small family farms in the Huila department, washed and sun-dried on raised beds. Balanced and approachable with enough complexity to keep you coming back. A daily driver done right.
Tasting notes:
Dark cedar · Bittersweet chocolate · Earthy spice · Long, smoky finish
Wet-hulled in the traditional Giling Basah style, this Sumatran heavyweight delivers a rich, syrupy body with a deep, earthy complexity. Perfect for espresso or a French press on a cold morning.
